Last week, our Tidy Tip was to Make. It. Smaller, and we wanted to expand on this tip in our blog today! We know how daunting of a task organizing can be, even for professional organizers! Especially in your own home, where you see the same closets, cabinets, piles of stuff, etc. day after day that you need to tidy up. You open up that dreaded cabinet and can’t find what you need, then, that reminds you of another drawer that you’ve been meaning to organize but don’t know where to start. From there, it snowballs into this big ball of anxiety over everything you want to organize but can’t get to, leaving you stressed out and unmotivated to even begin. So, you leave it all alone and untouched and repeat the cycle the next day. Sound familiar?

This is where the make it smaller tip comes into play. You have to start somewhere, and the easiest way to do that without the panic and overwhelm is to start small, as small as you need to feel comfortable. It could be one drawer, one shelf, one cabinet or maybe one closet or one room if you’re feeling more motivated. You want to make sure that whatever your goal, it’s achievable, so you are setting yourself up for success instead of disappointment when you can’t get it all done. The accomplishment of crossing one area off of your list and seeing that before and after transformation will help motivate you to do more and little by little, you’ll be able to see your progress and have the neat nest you always wanted! Now we also understand that this process may not come naturally to everyone, which is why we are here! Click the link below to contact us and let us help you start the process to get your nest organized!
